	Balkan Music Night! Saturday, March 13, 2010 The music of the Balkans has inspired a passionate fascination in many Americans – so much so that every summer, week-long Balkan music and dance camps take place on both the East and West coasts, sponsored by the (East European Folklife Center). In 1986, as part of a nationwide celebration intended to create a wider awareness of Balkan music, Boston-area musicians who had attended the camps joined together to produce a marathon concert and dance party. This first Balkan Music Night was such a success that it has become an annual event, which often includes guest performers from outside the greater Boston area.
